Match REPORT: Cymot SKW vs FNB Oshakati City SKW Stadium 1 - 0  Halftime 0 - 0

The coaches:  A very hectic game, Oshakati only hit long balls up the field, and we were not capable forcing our game on them. Our boys adopted the scappy soccer. We made three good substitutions who turned the game in our favour with the late goal by Barnes Lisaku. Important at this stage are the three points. We wanted to show our spectators some good soccer but this did not work out because our team had difficulties with the unconventional way of soccer Oshakati show this Saturday.
SKW man of the match: Günter von Hundelshausen

SKW Squad: Harry Januarie, Sheldon du Plessis, Günter von Hundelshausen, Ralph Ellinger, Warren Neidel, Tjono Jagger, Edmund Gowaseb, Michael Mauha, Milton Zivanayi Chapo (70min Elias Lisaku), Edwin Korukuve (78min Gustav Isaak), René Traut (45min Ronny Hochobeb).

Pre-match Report: SKW CYMOT NPL Team: 10/09/09
Injuries - Chipela, Chingarah, Ellinger and Eichhoff definitely out for the weekend:

German soccer expert Mr Heinz Werner who is currently visiting the SKW will accompany Richard Starke to the coast while Rolf Beiter will stay behind to take Kakuva's under 17 into the NFA u/17 semi final on Saturday. Lucky Kakuva is attending a coaching course in Hennef, Germany.

UUUPS !!!! Injuries before the league even started. Tatada Chingarath will be out for two to three weeks due to a knee injury. Since Friday midfield star Chepela "Chippa" is struggling with a nasty hamstring injury, while yesterday left midfielder Pitzi Eichhoff dislocated his shoulder in a friendly against African Stars which ended 1-1.Ralph Ellinger will be definitely out while the coaches hope that keeper Januarie will be fit after a rip bruise. "We have got on every position two strong players" coach Richard Starke stated, "and we should be able to compensate those players". SKW's squad seems to be a bit stronger than last season with players like Milton Zivanayi Chapo (Monotronics), Thomas Shakes Mutilifa (Golden Bees), Pitzi Eichhoff (VFL Wildeshausen), Gustav Isaak (Ramblers), Michael Mauha (Civics) and with Euresol Kongoro (African Stars) another keeper coming on board

Match REPORT: Round 4 3 October 2009 - Blue Waters v Cymot SKW Atlants Stadium  2 - 0  Halftime 2 - 0

Spirited Blue Waters sink CYMOT SKW, Alarm bells for Civics and Ramblers

A fighting display from newcomers Blue Waters and the inability from CYMOT SKW to turn their dominance and scoring opportunities into goals ensured another three points for the coastal outfit. CYMOT SKW found it difficult to deal with the physical, sometimes unfair, approach from their opponents and conceded two unlucky goals in the form of a penalty in only the second minute and an own goal also in the first half. The last 70 minutes of the game were totally dominated by the CYMOT boys who should have walked away with at least a point had they taken just a few of the many clear chances which they created.

In other news, two title chasing sides of the last few seasons are rooted to the bottom of the log with only one out of a possible twelve points. The alarm bells must surely be ringing for Civics and Ramblers whom nobody expected to occupy the positions that they are currently in before the season started.

The coaches:  Blue Waters deserved the win !!! They were just quicker on the ball and more effective in the 50/50's.

SKW man of the match:  none

SKW plays good but loose to effective Pirates 3 - 1

CYMOT SKW Coaches: "Very good game but individual mistakes cost us at least a point, credit to Pirates they had four chances and used three".

The Squad : Sven Wiedenroth, Warren Neidel,  Ralph Ellinger, Günter von Hundelshausen (70min Barnes Lisaku), Silver Zemburuka, Edwin Korukuve (55min Image Isaak), Tjono Jagger, Milton Chapo, Sledge Gowaseb, Michael Mauha, Jacky Stephanus (Ronny Hochobeb 55min).

Harry Januarie, Ronny Hochobeb, Image Isaak, Barnes Lisaku, Thomas Shakes Mutilifa, René Traut (Fish), Chepela Chepela.

SKW’s midfield technical superb -  while the defense of the Olympia outfit which is normally rock solid was very shaky.

Tjono Jagger SKW Man of the Match
Striker Jacky Stephanus like his team mate Günter von Hundelshausen had their off day against Orlando Pirates. Tjono Jagger who played in midfield alongside skipper Sledge Gowaseb and Zimbabwean Milton Chappo became Man of the Match. Jagger wisely brought his two outside men Edwin Korukuve and Michael Mauha time and again in action over the wings which caused uproar in the Pirates defense, but all chances were wasted dreadfully. When the coaches decided to take off Stephanus, Korukuve and von Hundelshausen and brought on youngster Image Isaaks and Ronny Hochobeb, SKW could even put more pressure on the buccaneer’s goal. Coming close to the equalizer, it was a blunder of keeper Wiedenroth that sealed the game for Pirates. All three coaches were happy with the football their midfield displayed, but also remarked "we are conceding too many goals at the moment, as well as not utilizing our chances we are creating".

1 - 0 Pirates : Theofelus Tsowaseb (beating the offsides trap) 32.min

CYMOT SKW va Civics 2 - 1 . The coaching trio Starke, Kakuva and Beiter introduced two new faces in the Namibian Premier League.

17 - year old André Fug and Pitzi Eichhoff had their fist appearance in the highest soccer division. Eichhoff who played 2002 for the Cymot boys in the First Division returned home this year after studies in Germany. Even more spectacular was the introduction of youngster Andre Fug. The Cymot SKW u/17 goalkeeper who joined the senior side one week ago was thrown in cold water by the SKW coaches when regular keepers Harry Januarie (broke a finger) and Euresol Kongoro (muscle injury) had to withdraw for the game. Standby keeper Sven Wiedenroth (who is not training regularly due to work commitments) took the place on the sideline as reserve goalkeeper. Both newcomers left a neat impression Friday against Civics. Man of the match was Warren Neidel who showed a solid performance as left defender.

Starting Line-up : Andre Fug, Sheldon du Plessies , Günter von Hundelshausen , Ralph Ellinger, Warren Neidel, Chepela Chepela, Sledge Gowaseb (Capt), Milton Zivanayi Chapo(-86min Barnes Lisaku), Pitzi Eichhoff, Guti - Edwin Korukuve (- 80min Image Isaak), Michael Mauha (-65min Jacky Stephanus) ,

MTC NPL Round 11 - SKW, Tigers in goalless draw Submitted by Helge Schutz on Thu, 12/10/2009

SKW and Tigers played to an uneventful goalless draw at the SKW field on Thursday night. Chances were few and far between as most of the play took place in the centre of the park.

SKW tried some speculative long range efforts in the first half but their best chance came just before the break when Gustav Isaack stabbed a Pitzi Eichorn centre inches wide of the goals.

Tigers started attacking more after the break with especially Nelson Akwenye testing SKW’s defence. SKW keeper Harry January did well to clear just in time after Akwenye broke through the defence, while January also tipped an Akwenye freekick over the bar.

At the other end Tigers keeper Fox Nambundunga brought off a diving save from a Tjono Jagger shot, but Tigers looked more threatening and Kenny Malgas came close when he volleyed a Tangeni Shipahu centre inches wide of the upright.

With two minutes remaining Milton Chapo had a great chance when he latched onto a throughball but shot wide with just the goalie to beat.

The result leaves Tigers in fourth position on 20 points – four points behind log leaders African Stars, while SKW remain sixth on 17 points.

New Era comment:
Wesbank Tigers and Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) played out a goalless draw in a match of missed chances at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Thursday.

The Germans must consider themselves a bit unlucky not to have taken the maximum three points, as they were by far the better side of the two as they created enough chances to wrap up the result.

SKW/ Ramblers Face-off

The MTC Premiership 2009/10 season continued on Wednesday night week-14. One of the worst Windhoek derby's between SKW and Ramblers at the SKW Stadium in Olympia. SKW was the weaker team of a disastrous football evening. What the two teams showed to their spectator had nothing to do with football.

Warren Neidel hat to go to hospital after a collision with his own team-mate Zemburuka in the 82 minute.

Hotspurs stun SKW  Submitted by Helge Schutz on Fri, 02/12/2010

Hotspurs’ remarkable revival continued when they beat SKW 2-1 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night.

They got off to a great start when Richard Kavendji put them ahead in the first minute, when he raced onto a poor backpass to stab the ball past SKW’s outrushing keeper Diego Fransman. Hotspurs had the better chances in the first half and Aluta Sheya nearly increased their lead with a cracking freekick on 21m but a diving Fransman managed to tip the ball for a corner. Just before the break, Kavendji latched onto a great throughball by Leonard Stanley, but with Fransman in no man’s land, his lob was headed off the goal line by Silver Zemburuka.

SKW started attacking more in the second half and Gustav Isaak came close with a diving header that went inches wide. They continued to attack with Edwin Korukuve and Warren Neidel providing dangerous crosses from the wings and their pressure paid off on 80m when Zino Buys fired home a rebound from a Neidel cross. Hotspurs however kept on fighting and when Fransman fumbled the ball from a corner, Veron Itope pounced to slam the loose ball high into the net. It was Hotspurs’ second victory in the past three games, and although they are still at the bottom of the log, they are now just one point behind Oshakati City and United Stars.

SKW, meanwhile, remain in sixth position. Hotspurs 2 SKW 1 R Kavendji 1m ; Z Buys 80m; V Itope 87m

Submitted by Helge Schutz and SKW News , 02/18/2010 SKW hold Pirates to a draw
What a match: most probably the best since a long time. With two clear goal scoring opportunities left out by Traut and Isaak SKW only have to blame themselves that they did not keep all three points. German newcomer Marcus Jahn played a solid match while Ellinger, Traut and Chepela did their job above average. The coaching staff left skipper Sledge Gowaseb and Milton Chapo on the bench which made in huge impact to the team. Jojo Kapaama showed a solid performance in the central midfield while Guti Korukuve was outstanding. Two sitters early in the second half and a doubtful penalty resulting of an error of goal keeper Diego Fransman did deny SKW the victory.

Orlando Pirates squandered a chance to go to the top of the log when they were held to a 1-all draw by SKW at the SKW field on Thursday night. The home side took the lead through a great solo effort by Edwin Korukuve on 19m, but Pirates drew level when Johannes Seibeb scored from the penalty spot on 54m.

Pirates could not break through SKW’s defence, where captain Ralph Ellinger had a fine game. SKW did most of the early attacking and Warren Neidel wasted a great chance when he blasted a pin point cross by Rene Traut over the bar. At the other end, Pirates’ young midfielder Sem Iipinge came close with a great freekick that curled around the wall but bounced off the crossbar. Korukuve put SKW ahead with a great goal when he won possession from a corner on the edge of Pirates’ box, and left his marker stranded with a deft turn to shoot the ball into the left hand corner of the net.

SKW in round two - SKW wins on penalties after leading 2 - 0

After leading by two goals to nil the Imawida's did step down the pace and nearly had to pay for it. Edwin Korukuve scored with a cracker of a goal after 15 minutes. It was left defender Marcus Jahn who send a ball across the field to Guti Korukuve who blasted it home from about 20 meters. SKW second came when Gustarv Isaak dribbled himself into the 16 yard box and supplied René Traut with a fine cross from the left side. Traut headed the ball home for his first goal of the season. With a two goal margin the Cymot boys went into the break. With the restart Tura Magic could find the net to come back into the match - 2 - 1. Five minutes later (55min) it was Gunter von Hundelshausen who received a red card for retaliation according to the fourth official who called the referee towards him. With 20 minutes to go Tura Magic draw level through a header after a left hand corner. In the dieing minutes of the game Edmund Goeaseb, the SKW captain received his second yellow card from a one sided referee team. The match went straight into a penalty shoot out. Stars escape with 3 points.

In a very entertaining match it was African Stars who took early command till they scored in the 24 minute (Litombo) when Neidel couldn't get the ball out of the danger area. Uanivi took a quick free kick after right back Dennis Ngueza was brought down to put Litombo through and the lone striker made no mistake with a composed finish that the SKW keeper could do nothing about. After the goal both sides had several chances which they didn't use. The biggest went to Milton Chapo of SKW when he couldn't put the ball in the empty net. Second half : Despite all their possession, SKW could not break through as Stars held on for victory, which now puts them in pole position to retain their title. Outstanding for SKW were Warren Neidel Michael Mauha and Edwin Korukuve while Ralph Ellinger and Jojo Kapaama showed solid performances.

A match where Cymot SKW performance wise had to be the winner. But the winner is always the team who scores the most goals and that was African Stars, who capitalised on a defensive error to score. The golden goal was scored by Rudi Louw in the 10th minute when goal keeper Harrie Januarie could not hold the ball and dropped it in front the Stars midfielder who just pushed it over the line. SKW did most of the attacking and had more ball possession but could not convert their chances into goals. The clearest chance had youngster Gustav Isaak who missed an open goal. Rolf Beiter: "All our players tried their best tonight, but our goalkeeper Januarie and substitute Ronnie Hochobeb didn't seem to understand what's it all about." Outstanding for the green-white outfit were Barnes Lisaku, German Marcus Jahn, Chapo Milton, Jojo Kapaama and Ralph Ellinger. SKW have two more league games left to close off a intermingled season.

Zino Buys man of the match for SKW scored twice against United Stars in Grootfontein. 08/05/2010

SKW took early comand of the match but a week SKW goal keeper Harry Januarie and a even weeker referee team made sure that the green and white outfit  only took a single point home . Milton Zivanayi Chapo and substitute Zino Buys were outstanding in a good playing SKW side.
Farewell match for German Marcus Jahn:

The SKW NPL Team will depart to Grootfontein early Saturday morning with 15 players. It will be the final match for young German Marcus Jahn who has to return to Germany for his studies. Not part of the squad will be the central midfielders Edmund 'Sledge' Gowaseb and Zambian Chepela Chepela, both are ruled out due to yellow card cautions.

Great come back from the Cymot boys ! A match which could of gone either way , was won by the more dedicated team. SKW just did that little bit more to keep all 3 point in the SKW Stadium. Elias Lisaku, Warren Neidel, Milton Chapo and Michael Mauha showed a good performance for the green and white Olympia based side. Black Africa could score due to a defensive error by SKW's Neidel, Marko van Wyk's shot could be saved by SKW keeper Fransman but the rebound fell to the feet of BA striker Jerome Luis who had no problem to push the ball past the SKW keeper. Luis is leading the NPL top scorer list with 15 goals after 21 rounds played.
